Re: cheapest grocery store?
I find great deals at Stop and Shop, waldbaums, pathmark and sometimes shoprite. I look at the circulars online every thursday for the next sale week. Sometimes I go to more than one store in a day to catch the best deals. Also, COUPONS is the best thing. I just started coupon clipping and have saved sooooo much. Most of the stores I mention double coupons everyday and they accept internet printable coupons. Try to match your coupons to sale items and you'll save so much!!!

Re: cheapest grocery store?
Posted by justme4u So you see, it just takes a little planning. Also cutting coupons every Sunday really helps .If something is on sale and you also use the coupon for it, you can get it for really cheap.
To this point, there are sites like grocery game and coupon mom that can help you match your coupons to the sales. I think grocery game has a one-month free trial.

Re: cheapest grocery store?
I shop at Stop n Shop, Target, Wallmart. Whenever I need certain things I know which of these three stores I can get things the cheapest. Lately I have been doing more shopping at Target & Wallmart and then getting my meats at Stop n Shop or Meat Farms

Re: cheapest grocery store?
i like walbaums (pathmark and walbaums are the same). I follow the sales. I used to shop at shop and shop but I find it more expensive and their sales dont seem as great.. I also found walkbaums to have a better selelction of meat
I would love if there was a target closer to me. I would def go there to buy cereal and ect, they def have good prices

Re: cheapest grocery store?
Don't forget that you can stack coupons at Target too - use a Target coupon and a manufacturer's coupon. I don't buy many groceries there because the grocery stores double coupons BUT you can save as mch or more if you stack.

Re: cheapest grocery store?
I use to go to Pathmark, but since Waldbaums bought Pathmark they have America's choice and I HATE that. So now I go to Stop and Shop and my food bill was cheaper and I love there store brand!
ETA: You can use King kullen $5 off coupons here too. I save atleast $15 a week on buying there store brand.

Re: cheapest grocery store?
Of the grocery stores in my area, cheapest to most expensive are:
1. Pathmark 2. Waldbaums 3. King Kullen/Stop and Shop 4. IGA
My Stop and Shop has a great selection, but the prices don't even compare to Pathmark...

Re: cheapest grocery store?
The cheapest place for produce is Best Yet or Meat Farms.. Then usually for everything else I go to Pathmark or Waldbaums - whichever has the best sales that week

Re: cheapest grocery store?
If you are just shopping (and not just shopping the sales), Shop Rite has the best every day prices.
Meat Farms has cheap produce but a lot of times, you get what you pay for. It's often bruised and doesn't keep for too long in the fridge.

Re: cheapest grocery store?
Johns farms is insane any time of day. They do have great prices. The downfall is they only accept cash.
I normally Shop at Stop and Shop, and I will go to King Kullen when they have their good sales on certain items, like Perdue Thin Skinless chicken breasts at buy one get one free. This past week King Kullen had great sales on their fruits and veggies...Bags of spinach, cartons of mushrooms, etc for $1 each....I couldnt pass that up.
I dont mind going to a bunch of stores as long as I am going to save money.
I usually cut the coupons from Newsday and I use coupon.com

Re: cheapest grocery store?
I shop at A&P but I dont think there are any on LI.
We totally stock up on things when they are on sale and this helps. Like if chicken is buy 1 get 1 free, we buy like 8! We try to eat healthy and not a lot of carbs which I find is a bit expensive but again we will buy whatever is on sale. If brocolli is on sale that week, we buy 2 and have it two nights, etc.

Re: cheapest grocery store?
I started doing Fresh Express through Waldbaums. Yes you have to pay a delivery fee, but we are spending so much less money. We use to spend $80 to $120 every week, our average now including the delivery fee is $60. It is absolutely amazing how much we were spending on inpulse buys. I personally like stop and shop better but thought they didn't take outside coupons like King Kullen $5 off $50, but now that I know they do I might change to pea pod.
E.T.S. I shop Trader Joes for all organic foods for DS. The cheapest place for organic foods, and the selection is awesome and the food is delish.
