Lollipops r very easy to make. You could make them a good week or 2 in advance as long as they r away from heat. I would say at least 3 lbs of chocolate

Yes, super easy. I made them this past weekend for my dd's birthday party.
I got a pound of chocolate and barely got 17 pops, so yes i agree with 3 pounds of chocolate.

Re: chocolate lollipops and other simple homemade favors
thank you! another dumb question
do you just melt the chocolate wafers? or do you need to add something to it - like crisco or milk?
thanks!!!

Re: chocolate lollipops and other simple homemade favors
im about to make some chocolate lollis for my cousins birthday
the amount of chocolate depends on the size of the molds. i would ask the store that you get the molds from what they recommend as far as the amount.
to melt the chocolate you can do one of two things... take the discs and microwave them - but in small batches (using a clean dry bowl each time). or you can use a double boiler you dont need to add anything to melt them
