Christmas Dinner Menu...need help!!

Ok, so my mom (control freak that she is) is "allowing" me to host Christmas Eve Dinner.

I need menu ideas.
So far, I'll make a ham, and my dad says he will make a turkey breast.

It's only for 10 people, but since it's my first one and we're in our new house, I want to dazzle'em.

Don't forget about the dessert!!

Re: Christmas Dinner Menu...need help!!

I am making the following for Christmas dinner:

Lamb (marinated & done on the grill)

Filet Mignon (seasoned & also on the grill)

Roasted Red potatos (olive oil, sea salt, pepper, garlic pwder, rosemary, thyme)...I roast 'em till they're crispy on the outside & it goes with both meats!!)

Stringbeans

Zucchini casserole (grandmas recipe)---ask if you'd like it!!!

Fried Cauliflower (my MIL specialty)

Still thinking about dessert!!

Girl, I'm no help. Christmas for us is very traditional. Pernil, arroz con gandules, pasteles, amarillos (platanos maduros), potato salad...

For dessert we almost always have flan and tembleque.

And coquito plus Dominican ponche to drink.

Sorry, if that doesn't help!! Chat Icon

I can't eat it, but can't cook it.

I wanna come to your house!!!

We are very traditinal too, however it's all fish (Italian). I'm trying to get the 7 fish in somehow

Appetizers I am doing mozzarella balls and roasted peppers, cold marinated fish salad, and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and fontina cheese with a lemon aioli (it's a huge hit, I can give you the recipe). And a shrimp cocktail.

For dinner I think I am doing a frutta di mare of clams mussels, calamari, shrimp and maybe monkfish over linguine.
Or Iwas going to make a stuffded flouder with crabmeat stuffing to go with the pasta.

Dh's cousin is making the veggies, sauteed broccoli rabe and some kind of eggplant.

Oh, dessert!! I made chocolate covered pretzels and I was thinking to make this citrus pund cake with pomegranate sauce, found it in Real SImple!

Well, the rice is simple. And Daisy Cooks! makes some of the best Puerto Rican food ever. The platanos maduros (amarillos) are super simple. That would be a nice little touch!! Chat Icon
