since i do arroz con gandules often enough, black beans will be more of a special item.
i'll be working on christmas eve. i have to coordinate when the pernil will be popped in the oven lol
This is very random but do you have a recipe you follow for pernil? I have tried to make it many times and it always comes out dry.

Christmas Eve food
My husband is German so we go to a German Deli called Forest Pork Store or Zumstamtisch and get lots of cheeses, German style cold cuts, sausages, pretzel and rye bread plus German potato salad and Herring Salad. We have a whole little spread of things to pick through and choose from
