CLARIFIED: Tactful way to ask nursery school teacher to wipe better? Possible TMI
***Should have made clearer: I send my son into school wearing pull-ups because of his regression, so they are completely fine with changing him after his accidents. It's just that sometimes they leave a significant amount of poop on him.***
My son has had poop training regression since nursery school started so he occasionally has poop accidents at school. Several times I've noticed that his teachers (I don't know if it's the main teacher or assistant) have left a significant amount of poop on him so that his fresh pull up and his bottom are smeared with poop (up to maybe a tablespoon in volume, which is a lot on a little bottom). It's also clear that it's not a new little accident after being changed.
Am I being uptight in thinking they should do a better job cleaning him up? I understand they are busy, but I provided them with nice, thick, moist wipes, and I can always get him clean very quickly with those.
Parent teacher conferences are coming up - is there a tactful way to ask them to wipe up better? Should I be more indirect and mention it to the front office? I don't want to be the pushy demanding mom, but I'm not very happy when he leaves school with a poop-smeared bottom.
Thanks for any advice!

Mention that your kid is getting pretty severe diaper rashes and if they could apply desitin or triple paste or some kind of butt cream. Supply cream. Butt has to be pretty clean to put it on.
Our preschool doesn't do pullups or diapers... so I have no experience with how well a school handles it. We do have spare clothes in case of accidents at school. DS wipes himself, so VERY OFTEN has poop on his bottom & I wash his booty when I get home every day (separate from baths). If he's not there all day, this will probably work til he's fully trained.

I think it depends on the rules regarding diaper vs potty trained at the nursery school.
I know many nursery schools do not do diapers or pull-up changes.

Thanks. His school is actually totally ok with changing pull ups and diapers (and there is a changing table in the bathroom). They only don't help the children after they are fully trained and wearing undies.

THat's how my place is. And if DD had an accident, even in an older room, they would clean her up. I can't imagine making a child sit in filth all day. I mean what would they do? Let her stay dirty because she is supposed to be trained and had an accident and they "don't handle pull ups?". That would not sit well with me.
Anyway, in your case, I'd just bring it up like a PP mentioned- saying something about how he gets really bad rashes and can they please make sure he is totally clean should he have an accident and ask they apply butt cream.

I know my daycare does not wipe children once they are trained. I think it may be state regs. But you can write a letter giving them permission to wipe. So I'd first check the policies and then go from there.

I had this issue with a family member. I think they weren't paying enough attention during diaper changes. I was very nice about and said that DS was getting diaper rashes so please make sure the area is very clean and use desitin after each change.

I agree that this is the nicest way.
