cleaning electric stoves
I am notorious for letting pots boil over. I never had an electric stove before, and I cant seem to get the burnt water marks off the surface. I am afraid to scrub too hard.
How do you clean the surface of your electric stove?

Re: cleaning electric stoves
i used easy off and it worked for 2 of the 4 burners.
eta. i did this to move out of an apartment and let it soak in the easy off for longer than the bottle said and did it repeatedly for 3 hours.

I use a straight razor and ceramabrite. The ceramabrite kit comes with a scrub pad and a razor. I got it at bed bath and beyond.

I also use the Cerama Bryte kit. The scraper and pad get the stuck on stuff off easily. Using this I absolutely love my cooktop. It always looks brand new when I am finished cleaning it.
I have gotten it at Home Depot. The link below is for Target.

Re: cleaning electric stoves
i've used a few products but the best that has worked for me in Bon Ami. Its cheap, and safe and totally works. For those really hard messes, I use Bon Ami and scrape with a razor.

Re: cleaning electric stoves
BTW Ceram brite was what was recommended to us when we bought our cooktop. GE, Frigidaire, etc., all recommend it.
I swear by it.
