Do you use Clear or Colored lights on your Xmas tree? Why do you prefer your choice?

It's too early for this but I do clear.
Colored will clash too much with my theme.
I can't have a mish mosh of ornaments it bothers my eyes- so I do a themed tree

Clear, but I’ve done colored in the past and like them both. It just happens that my current fake tree came with clear.

I like clear, dh likes color... we settled and now own our first fake tree and it has both. Thank god lol

I have both and the past few years I've been doing color because my girls like it more. I really like the looks of clear better but Christmas is for kids.

We change it every year. We get a real tree so I never feel comfortable reusing old lights. I would always inspect the lights before putting them on the tree, but one year there was a broken light. The bulb was cracked and we didn't notice until someone got a small shock when they touched the tree. So now I'm just paranoid and won't reuse any old lights on the tree. We will use the previous years lights to decorate other parts of the house. Some years we do all clear, sometimes we use multi-colored. One year we did all red and that looked nice. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd probably say multi-colored.

I like clear
DH likes multicolor

My tree has clear because I didn’t even want a tree, DH bought a huge tree - I said the least we could do is have the clear lights on it.

We don’t have kids - if we did, it would be whatever they wanted. But since it’s just us, I like a fancy tree

I like white lights, DH likes colored. This year we finally compromised. In Costco, they sell lights that you can change from colored to white

I prefer clear. This is the first year that my son (3) will have an opinion so I guess I will need to see what he likes - lol

We have colored. When we bought the tree we asked the kids what they preferred. I like the look of clear, but I think kids find it too boring. They rule our household in every other way, why would the tree be any different?

We do all clear. The small clear lights, or those clear c9 bulbs that people clip to their gutter in a nice straight line looks alot cleaner and classic to me.

I don't think it's the color lights that bother me, but it's the houses that have the giant c7 and c9 bulbs in color. Not sure why, but It looks messy to me.

To each their own, though!

I like white lights, but the kids like multi color, so we put up both. Makes everyone happy. :)
