Went to Ear Doctor. Removed some wax and my ear seemed better but then I started the drops (Ciprodex) and they clogged up again! Is this normal? I go back on tuesday...
Please Help!

Scared to do the drops again for fear of clogging up even more than it is...

Re: Clogged ears but no ear wax...Help my right ear is all clogged up...
I had a similar issue with my ear last spring and I actually had a few dizzy spells from it. Always felt clogged inside and couldn't hear very good. I went to my ear doctor and had very little wax. Turns out that it was TMJ. Did not have any jaw pain at all too- he pressed in a specific area and I jumped and it confirmed his diagnosis. He said my jaw joint was inflamed with fluid inside giving me these ear symptoms. He put me on an anti inflammatory every 6 hrs and it worked. Haven't had any issues since. I mean, it could def be an ear issue but figured it would help to share in case you have what I had. Good luck!

I just got over an ear infection (outer ear, "swimmer's ear"), and it did feel clogged for a few days. After a couple of days with the drops, the ear started to clear up, and now it's fine. It took about a week to feel 90% or so.

sometimes having a head cold can make your ear feel clogged too

You're going to laugh at me but I have this happen a lot. So I have a home remedy. Basically make a heat pad out of towels and the microwave. Lay on it for a bit. Take a anti-inflammatory like Tylenol, repeat the hot pad up to 3 times. Re-wetting and heating it.
The heat and vapors both seem to 'unclog' my ears. Release pressure.
I don't know if there's any science behind it at all. I got a bad ear cramp and it was very painful while I was in college. It was spring break (i stayed on campus) the nurses were all off and the clinic closed. I obviously had no insurance of my own. There was an 800 nurse number. I called it and spoke with someone. What she recommended was something I could buy. I had no money so I devised a simple work around with wet hand towels and dry paper towels while laying on my side in the common room (only place with a microwave).
Good Luck

Ear Doctor I went to Was 80 years old. Should I change doctor. A friend said I should have been prescribed antibiotics along with the ciprodex drops. Have a follow up with him tomorrow. What should I do?

I wasn't given antibiotics. I'm a firm believer in not getting antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. Too many antibiotics make for super germs, which normal antibiotics can't kill. For an ear infection, I would avoid the antibiotics, IMO. My Dr. is much younger than 80.....

Should I just find a younger doctor and not go to the 80 year old one for the follow up...

I don't see any problem with going to an 80 year old doctor for an ear ache. I don't know what a 50yo doctor is going to do any differently than an 80yo Dr.

I use a similar method for a clogged ear/ear ache. I fill a tall glass halfway with hot water. Then put my head sideways so my ear can go in the glass, and make sure to make a seal with the rest of my face. The hot steam contained in the glass goes into the ear and helps with the pain/pressure.

It takes several days for anything to really happen, if it's an ear infection. Probably about 4-5 days until you feel noticeably better, then a few more days until it's done. It sounds like you're probably right on track.
