Clogged ear tubes

Has this happened to anyone DC? We brought Derek for a check up and his tubes are clogged most likely from all the congestion he had from the flu.

We have to put ear drops in each ear and hold him there for at least 30 seconds, but the ENT said 2 min would be better. How do you hold a 16 mo old down for 2 min while ear drops soak in???? He is hoping this unclogs them.
