Co-Sleeping moms - how and when did you break the habit?

DS is 5 months and we have been co sleeping for about three months now. He will sleep in the basinet part of his stroller for naps but will not sleep in the cradle or crib at night. While its easier to BF him while co sleeping I think its going to be hard to break him out of either habit because of the co sleeping - ie he wakes to feed all the time during the night as I am right there. He fed ALL night last night and would not settle without feeding.

I do love having his delicious little face there right beside meChat Icon but I co slept with our DD and she still wants to get into our bed at nearly 4.

Any tips? I wont do CIO ever so something gentle but effective.

I EBF and co-slept b/c DS wouldn't sleep anywhere except in our arms. We held him for the first 6 months and then he was ok sleeping between us after that. He started STTN at 7 months, but still wouldn't sleep in the crib. He'd wake up as soon as we tried to put him down there. We tried to transition him to the crib at 10 months and somehow it worked. For the first few days, he woke up a couple of times, but we were able to get him back to sleep and transfer him back to the crib. By the 3rd or 4th night, he was STTN in the crib.

He's almost 13 months now. He still won't fall asleep in the crib on his own, but we can rock him for 5 minutes until he falls asleep and then transfer him. I don't really have any tips b/c we had a pretty smooth transition to the crib. Good luck!

Thanks. I guess I am looking for the magic answer that we all want" he will wake up one day and decide that he will star to STTN and sleep in his crib...just because he is ready".

He still feeds twice during the night so its probably easier to have him in bed but I noticed the last few nights that as well as his feeds he is using me as pacifier and just wants to nuzzle me instead of his pacifier.

AJ won't fall asleep in her crib. Mostly cause she's bored and lonely. She'll fall asleep without any real effort on our living room floor with a pillow and a blanket, then we move her into her crib.

It sort of just 'happened'. She's 16m and she motions that she wants her crib, we put her in and she'll lay down but won't really sleep.
