Cold cuts - snobs?

I will buy whatever cheese is on sale but I always buy boars head for meats. I know it's all processed crap.. But what other brands are tasty?

Is dietz and Watson good?

I just recall buying some other brand for turkey or chicken and sometimes there'd be some weird gelatin goo in it.

I am a total cold cut snob---It's only boar's head meats for me.

I have tried many others out there (especially when I lived in other areas of the country that didn't have BH) and nothing compares. I am not a fan to D&W.

There are a few places (like the Associated by me) that makes their own roast beef. That is delicious and better than BH IMO.

I'm a bit more lax when it comes to cheese-typically I will ask for a taste if I haven't tried it before.

Boars Head, hands down.

But if you live near a Fairway, be sure to try their fresh roast turkey and roast beef that they sell at the deli counter. To die for!

I use Black Bear for genoa, salami, turkey and ham. Cheese I'm not particular with.

Curious. DO they have cold cuts in Europe? I've been but never noticed if they sell them.

We only get BH. I don't know that I taste a difference but the others definitely get slimy very quickly.

Yes they do, that's why I am a cold cut snob as well. When I lived in Germany, they were sometimes eaten for breakfast and for a light meal in the evening.
The main meal was eaten at noontime.

I will only eat bologna and hard cevelat salami made by Forest Pork Store or Karl Ehmer.
For everything else, there is Boar's Head, although DH is loving Karl Ehmer Country Ham that we buy at Fairway.

I like Applegate farms too
I wish it weren't so pricey
Also, i think it's only available in fairway- unless you buy the presliced packaged

This. I've seen chicken and turkey slices, but they are packaged. The stuff at the counter, or the butcher, is usually pork, and I'm not a ham fan. I'm not big on sausages, either (I'll eat one type once r twice a year). I got sick eating a hot dog as a child, and something about sausages and looking what's in them freaks me out. I'm obviously living in the wrong country, lol.

We tried the traditional Dinner, but we just don't like it. I just stick to the cheeses when we stay at a B&B in Germany.

This is what I've been using for the past year. I buy it at TJ's, but have occasionally seen it at Shoprite.
