Cold Cuts for toddler?

What type of cold cuts (if any) do you feed your toddler? DD is 14 months and I have yet to give her any. I am wary of the perservatives found in many cold cuts. I would appreciate any suggestions for brands etc. Thanks!

Re: Cold Cuts for toddler?

We only buy Boar's Head. My DD doesn't really like them all that much so maybe she'll have a sandwich once every other week if that. She generally has bologna or ham. Sometimes turkey on a very rare occasion.

ETA: DD#2 is 15mos and we haven't given her anything other than a taste of deli cheese here and there. She hasn't had any cold cuts yet.

I give the applegate farms turkey sometimes. No nitrates, etc.

we only give DD boars head cold cuts. She loves cheese and has had a little bit of turkey, liverwurst, and ham but she doesn't really love them.

Re: Cold Cuts for toddler?

At that age I used Applegate farms. Once she hit around 18 mths, I switched to Boars head. Their turkey has no nitrates I believe. I use Land O Lakes Cheese. When she turned 2 I started with Boar Head Bologna. OMG, this child loves her Bologna and BH hot dogs even.

How are those? We are trying to stay away from as many preservatives as possible b.c DD might have a preservative allergy (not sure which one yet) - I saw those and they seemed to have very little in them - how do they taste?

Has anyone tried the Nature's promise ones? I saw the turkey had no preservatives in it either.
