Colic/acid reflux in 2 month old - advice needed

So sweet little baby girl had what seems to me to be colic but the drs are calling it acid reflux. She was on axid at 3 weeks old and that only lasted a week till drs switched her to Zantac. She'll be 2 months tomorrow. She has good days and bad days but the bad days can be very overwhelming and I just want her to be happy. She sleeps every night in a rock n play and is spoiled and held all day. During the day if she's put down she screams and put down for a nap it'll only last 10 minutes. I go hack to work In 4 weeks and need to start getting life to be a little more organized - any advice ?? Sorry if this is messy - on cell and one handed !

Colic/acid reflux in 2 month old - advice needed

My DS had this and a milk allergy. All we did was hold him and he never napped more than 20 minutes at a time until 4 months old. It's really hard. Things got better (relatively) at 3 months. I don't think there is an easy answer. Try swaddling, sound machine. Some people say a baby carrier has worked well. We consulted with a gastro who saw him for almost a year. Good luck.

Zantac is weight sensitive so you might have to adjust as she gains weight. I noticed my daughter had "good days" when we upped the dosage. We also added 1-2 tablespoons of oatmeal cereal into every other bottle starting at 3 months old. Cereal helps keep the milk down. Have her sleep on an incline, feed her in an upright position, keep her upright for a 1/2 hr after a feed. For me things got better with time.

this was my child. I used Gerber soothe. I have recommended it to many many people. It is a probiotic and I found it helped within a day or two. Ask dr if you want. You can buy it at any pharmacy, cvs, amazon.
Yes, if you havent upped the zantac it is very very weight sensitive so it may be that. My DS slept in the rock and play til he was 3 months. Great incline for reflux babies.

Gerber Soothe Colic drops, Zantac (dosed properly with weight gain) and sitting DS up for 30 mins after each bottle. Those were the keys to making good days great and bad days tolerable. It does get better with time though.

Try giving her some chamomile. Is she formula or bm fed? She may be sensitive to what you are giving her. Find her a different formula that works best for her as suggested above. If you bf then watch what you eat. She might even be allergic the bm and you will have to switch to formula. Make sure you keep her upright after she has fed for 20 minutes. If you can't hold her, keep her in her bouncer/swing and place some towels under her sheets for when she is sleeping. You could also try gripe water.

My little man was miserable for almost a year with silent reflux. He was on prescription formula (elecare) and Zantac 3x a day and was still suffering. They cry and don't want to be put down because they are hurting.

I was obviously upset and disliked medicating my DS so I began doing a lot of research and found that others had been helped by pediatric chiropractic care. I had never been to one but figured it was a natural alternative so we tried it. We were then finally able to wean DS off his medication. We had seen ENT's, pediatricians and gastrointestinal specialists. I am now a believer in chiropractic care. Babies can be cared for by ped. chiropractors from the day they are born! The whole philosophy/approach makes a lot of sense.

I hope your LO grows out of it quickly....many babies do.
