Re: Coloring in the lines...
DD #1 has been doing this since around she turned 3. DS hated coloring books (only drew "freehand") so I couldn't tell you for him.

Re: Coloring in the lines...
Megan HATES coloring..she also likes to draw freehand better. But when she does color, she has JUST STARTED to stay inside the lines a bit. Shes a little younger than Ali right?

Re: Coloring in the lines...
Bella just started doing it recently, like in the last 6-8 months I feel like. I think it was more her being lazy than anything.
School is much more structured this past year.

Re: Coloring in the lines...
Is this something that you practice with your child? Or was it something they just kinda got on there own?

Re: Coloring in the lines...
I guess it depends on how much of a color-er they are prior to school. My kids weren't/aren't all that into it as a pastime. I saw a huge improvement in Kindergarten bc they had to so do much.

Kaitee started it a few months after she turned 3. She started doing it on her own, we didn't teach it to her.

Re: Coloring in the lines...
Aly still doesnt color very well in the lines...when I tell her tyo and tell her to go slow and careful she will - so I know she can...she just chooses not to and colors all over the place. she has a friend the same age who colors the whole page very neatly in the lines though.

I still can't do it .
Seriously, I think I was a lot older. I'm a lefty with bad handwriting, FWIW. I do not think I got any sort of hand eye coordination until I became determined to do a good job polishing my nails!

Re: Coloring in the lines...
Ale will be 3 in June. Sometimes I will hold her hand when she colors to show her how to stay in the lines. Otherwise she pretty much scribbles all over. But I think she is just now starting to get the concept, even if she doesn't necessarily do it.
