Communion Gift?
What's the standard these days? I haven't been to one in my adult life so I'm honestly at a loss. It's one of my best friends son, so I definitely don't want to skimp out.

I would do $50-$100. Since it is a best friend, I would give $100.

$75-$100 pp for communion. so for a couple $150 a $200. People don't expect wedding size gifts for communions.

I'm suprised its that much.. Shes not having a party at a hall or anything... Just apps back at their house... I'll prob do the $100. Thanks for the advice!!!

Yeah pp sounds like a lot for a communion. My nephew will be receiving in a few weeks. I think I'll do $100.

I have only been to two communions in my adult life, and I gave $200 (might have been $250, but I can't actually remember) at both; I consider myself very close to the kids, however. I don't know that would be my standard amount.

I would do $100. Maybe $125 if you are super close? I think the pp's amounts sound like what I'd give at a wedding!

Totally agree. My DD received First Communion last year and the average gifts were $50-$100.

For family. My standards for wedding is $75 -$100 pp.
I don't get the whole cover your plate if I have to pay to go to your party do me the favor don't invite me!

Wow...I must be cheap because we were invited to 6 communions this year. None of them are at a hall (besides one at a firehouse in which a family member is a firefighter) and i am NOT giving more than 50.

$75-100 Anymore than that is overkill in IMO. It's just a communion, not a wedding.

DD made her communion last year and didn't receive anything over $100 (and the $100 gifts came from immediate family or very close friends).
