Complications after having wisdom tooth pulled
I had one of my bottom wisdom teeth pulled exactly 2 months ago. I had a terrible dry socket afterwards but all has been well for the past month.
Now, all of a sudden, I'm starting to get pain on that side of my mouth (on the bottom). First it felt like it was coming from where they extracted the tooth, but now the other two teeth in front of it are very sensitive and my ear is starting to hurt a little like when my wisdom tooth went bad.
Can something still be happening from having my wisdom tooth out? The other 2 teeth having fillings, but all was well 5 months ago when I went to the dentist.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

Re: Complications after having wisdom tooth pulled
No sorry but I can sympathize on the pain from the wisdom teeth - I had all 4 done years ago when they were impacted and the pain was excruciating - I couldn't open my jaw for weeks.
It sounds like maybe you might have an infection???? I would talk to your doctor and maybe have them check it out.

Is it possible they left some of the root or something in there? It shouldn't be causing any pain at this point. I'd call the dentist who did it ASAP.

Agreed. I work for a Med Mal atty and we do a large number of dental malpractice. You'd be amazed at the number of dentists who leave in roots and an infection ensues.

Re: Complications after having wisdom tooth pulled
I had an infection weeks after having my wisdom teeth pulled. I just happened to get some food stuck in there. I went in and they cleaned me out and I was good to go.

Re: Complications after having wisdom tooth pulled
A lot of it may be trauma to the adjacent teeth during the extraction. Are the teeth sensitive to cold and heat? Usually it can begin as a mild cold sensitivity that progresses to heat and then becomes lingering, throbbing, and radiating. These are signs that the other teeth may have nerves breaking down. Basically, the inside of the tooth is inflamed, the nerve and tissue swells, but is constricted by the rigidity of the tooth. It can cause pain that radiates to the ear. These are signs that you may need a root canal for the adjacent teeth (nerves removed).
If it is an infection from an infected root tip, it usually is not associated with the temperature sensitivity, but can also have swelling and palpation sensitivity in the area.
Go to the dentist and ask for an xray of the region where the pain is.
