confused! 3wk old let sleep or wake??

I'm confused. My 3 1/2 week old has typically been eating every 2-3 hours thru the day and night even though I dont wake her at night. (I bf)
Last night she was up every hour (i think she had bad gas) and now today she has been sleeping from 1:30pm-6 and is still sleeping. Should I wake her?? Will she sleep less in the night now if she is sleeping so much during the day? I would normally wake her to eat in the daytime but my mil thinks I should let her sleep and she will wake up when she is hungry. but I'm afraid she won't eat enough during the day now and will be hungry all night!!?!?
Just wondering what everyone else did, I just want her to start sleeping more thru the night!!! tia

My DS slept through the night on the first night home and i woke him up bc i thought he would be hungry and everyone including my doctor said let him sleep!!! and ya know what they were right, they will wake up when they are hungry so my advice...BTDT...let her sleep and she will wake up when she is hungry!!
