confused and frustrated

I am a TTC newbie. First month off BCP and currently on CD 35 with no AF, but plently of cramps.

I just bought Answer OPK and a BBThermometer for next month to start tracking.

For the hell of it - i started temping mid cycle (i know i shouldve waited, but couldnt resist). My temps have been consistantly around 97.4 - 97.6. The past two days (CD 34 and 35) they have been 98.4 or higher.

I also started to use the OPK's during this cycle (i know, im nuts). And they were all negative, except for yesterday and today. My test line is so dark it is almost black.

heres my question - what the hell is going on? maybe O now? why would my temp be up before i O'd? or maybe i am just all out of whack b/c i am just off BCP.

forgot to mention - took a digital HPT this morning and got a BFN. B/c i read (dont know if its true) that the OPK can read HCG as well as LH. Is this true?

FRUSTRATED!!! Just want to move on to next month already!!!

Since it is your first month off bcp you are prob just o'ing late. Opk's will be + if you are pregnant but there is no way to tell if its because of pregnancy or ovulation. When I was pregnant with ds I checked everyday b4 my ob apt to make sure I wasn't dreaming. After I ran out of hpt I used my opk's. They came up super dark. Good luck

Hang in there!

The temps really don't mean anything since you have no pre-O temps to compare them with.

I'd just hang in there and wait for AF!

I agree with MAM, the temps don't mean anything. Maybe you are a late Oer, I would BD just in case.
