Connetquot School District
The current weather forecast as of 11:00 a.m. this morning is calling for light snow overnight and heavy snow in the afternoon; therefore, all schools will be operating on a half-day schedule on Wednesday, February 10. Lunch will not be served. Dismissal times are as follow: High School 9:40 a.m. Middle Schools 10:25 a.m. Premm 11:00 a.m. (No afternoon session) Cherokee 11:15 a.m. Bosti 12:00 p.m. Duffield 12:00 p.m. Idle Hour 12:00 p.m. Pearl 12:00 p.m. Slocum 12:00 p.m. Sycamore 12:00 p.m.

I agree so dumb Try and tell your 17 yo he needs to go to school for 2 hours..

Yesterday, DS got dismissed from elementary school around 10 or 10:30.... now tomorrow he'll half another (not even) half day. At least *someone* thinks it's a good idea...

I think because if they have an early dismissal, they don't have to make up the day, as where with a snow day, they would have to make it up...but i could be wrong

I think you are correct. They get paid by the state for the time they are open. Just like if your child gets sick at school. As long as they were there for attendance, they are counted as in school all day.

Me too! Some districts have already cancelled!
We got a phone call at 9:20 last night telling us that the schools were closed all day.
