Constipation in a 22 month old
What do I do? DD has been pushing all day; then she tells me she pooped, gets a panicked look on her face but when I look in her diaper there is nothing. The last time I looked---I saw the poop inside---like she was trying to push. Gross, I know but it looked too big to come out. I am feeding her a pear now but any other advice?

Try putting some vaseline in her tushy. It probably hurts to go and she is hesitant to push it out. It will help it come out easier. I would try and give her some extra fruit or juice for the next few days...Hope all goes well..

If it is visible can you try to push it out with a Qtip? Dont put the Qtip entirely inside but kinda push it out. Do you have any suppositories? You can try that also. Do you have any prunes or prune juice? Hope she feels better.

I probably do have a suppository from when my other DD was a baby. Maybe I'll do that if she starts to get really uncomfortable. So far it's just been when she's pushing--other than that she is acting normal.
