Constipation question 1 year old
Hi ladies-
My baby girl is 1 and we just started her on whole milk about 2 weeks ago. she has very hard pellet size poops. the dr said to give her 1/2 cap of mirolax in her bottle every 24 hrs, only if she hasnt pooped. would a hard poop mean no mirolax? ive tried everything. even suppositories dont help her!

Re: Constipation question 1 year old
does hard poop mean no miralax- id probably still give it to her so that she CAN poop easier.
we've had several poop issues and tried benefiber, prunes, etc. miralax is the only thing that has really made it easier on our little guy to poop. makes the poops softer.
LOL- the things that become normal topic of conversation....

My daughter has been going through the same thing. She is 1 also. She screams terribly when pooping and pushes up to an hour! It actually makes me cry. We started her on miralax and it is really helping. Make sure your child drinks lots of water and we also give about 8 oz of prune juice a day. (4oz water mixed with 4 oz prune juice). She has been struggling for awhile now so we were desperate to find an answer. Just be Careful not to give too much miralax, we did and it was liquid! Lol...I now give about 1/4 teaspoon.

Re: Constipation question 1 year old
DS is 21 months and has been dealing with this for almost a year. He holds it in so he is the cause most of the time. We put about an ounce of prune juice in wi his milk because he will not drink juice in his water. When it gets bad we also put a tablespoon of mineral oil in his food. Dr recommended it because it does not get absorbed by the body. Good luck, not fun to see them struggle.
