Contraction Question

Are all contractions really painful?

For the last hour I've been uncomfortable, but not in extreme pain. Stomach is getting hard as a rock for about 3-5 minutes every 8 or so minutes.

I just thought contractions would be really painful. These hurt, but not like i thought.

Are these considered real contractions?

could be braxton hicks contractions those dont hurt just feel tight.

As for what I experience with last dd when the real contractions come on... youll know it.. Oh man those suckers hurt.

They could be BH or they could be real... I was having contractions the whole time I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, and didn't feel anything. If you are having them on a regular schedule like that, I'd give the dr. a call.

i agree if they are constant like that, for more then an hour or so, call the dr..they sound like contractions..and they dont have to be too painful to start..
ive been having contractions for weeks, but i get a few (2 or 3 every 20 minutes or so) and then they go away..
my dr just wants me to call when theyre 10 minutes apart since its my 2nd..

I've been having a decent amount of contractions this week. My belly gets really tight and stays tight for a bit. It's uncomfortable, but not painful. They're definitely different from the BH I felt earlier in the pregnancy. I don't think they get painful until you're in active labor.

I've started to get what is described and it's not painful at all. My stomach is just feeling very hard all the time and I feel what seems to be limbs in one place in certain spots that don't move. Been going on for about a week now that I've noticed.
