Contractions? Braxton Hicks?
Since yesterday I have been having this strange tightening in my belly. It feels lke the baby rolls into a ball, then releases. At first that is what I thought, but it happens when I stand up after sitting at my desk for a long period of time or after I climb the subway steps. Do you think they are contractions or Braxton Hicks? Should I call the doctor?

sounds like BH to me...you should always call your Dr if it persists.

Re: Contractions? Braxton Hicks?
sounds like braxton hicks, but i agree, i would definitely call your doc if you are having more than 4-6 an hour. i've been having frequent BH for 3 weeks now, and i have to take meds for them to prevent pre-term labor...

Re: Contractions? Braxton Hicks?
Thanks .. it happens a couple of times a day, but I do not think 3+ times an hour. I will have to pay attention more and drink more water and see.
Thanks ladies!
I was really unconcerned until someone said "doesn't sound like the baby, sounds like contractions!" Always worrying!

Re: Contractions? Braxton Hicks?
Sounds like BH since they're happening when you do something. Contractions won't stop if you get up & walk around, lie down, etc.
I would keep yourself hydrated. Also BH can be very painful (you probably already know that already). Breathe out slowly when you get them.

So have I...but I noticed that I get them more often in the evening when I am tired or when I am walking my dog...I have to stop and relax for a few seconds, then take off again.
