CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT QUESTION-I thought the infant seats were confusing!
I have looked at several models and still, and beyond confused...
I don't know what the height limits are rear facing on some of the Britax models. I couldn't find it on BBB's website...
I am also deciding between the Graco My Ride 65, and one of the Britax's.
Is there another that I am missing?? Evenflo? Sunshine Kids? Anyone have any suggestions??? Not really concerned with the $, just safety...which is the best???
DS outgrew the height on his infant seat, but not the weight, and I would like to get more use out of the next seat.. Thank you!

Re: CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT QUESTION-I thought the infant seats were confusing!
I have a Recaro
My Pros are its good for longer rear facing AND forward facing.. very similar to Britiax in confidence and safety. I however feel a little more confident as the manufacturer is known for making race car seats. Meaning they've tested these things to the true breaking point and back. Also the seat part felt more comfy to me than any Britax..
That and I got it on sale on woot for $99

I can't really find a clear answer online either. I definitely suggest calling Britax at their 800 number. They are AWESOME to deal with. We just had my mom's Britax Decathalon replaced after the warranty expired for a Marathon because the Decathalon was just too hard to tighten and loosen the straps. They were so easy to deal with. I'm sure they could clarify for you on the phone to help you make your decision!

If you go to the britax website it will tell you the height limits for each car seat.http://www.britaxusa.com/car-seats/fit-my-child
The height limit for both the boulevard and marathon is 49 inches.

We have several Britax Marathons. HERE is their web page with the info on height requirements. Look at the red colored tab which gives you the threshold for rear and forward facing. HTH!

Re: CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT QUESTION-I thought the infant seats were confusing!
The stated height limit on most seats is not set in stone since kids grow at different rates.. some kids have longer legs some have longer torsos..... Basically, your child could be 49" tall and still have some room left in the seat or could be outgrown at 45", it all depends on body type.
Weight limits, however, are absolute and a seat should no longer be used when a child's clothed weight exceeds the stated limits.
The rule of thumb for height (unless stated otherwise in your manual that there is a firm limit for heightl) is 1" of shell remaining over their head in a rear facing position and for forward facing it's when the tips of the ears are level with the top of the shell.
I have a Boulevard, a MyRide and a TrueFit. They all have their plusses and minuses. All seats have to pass the same safety tests, but some are better choices due to higher RF limits, taller shells and harness slots (lasting longer), ease of use, etc. I suggest going with your child and playing with the seats in person. BRU will usually let you test out a seat in your car. The right seat is the seat that fits your vehicle, your child, and your budget.
If you do decide on a Britax, I suggest you wait another month or two if you can because their new models are being released with some really nice improvements. The Marathon/Boulevard/Advoate have been redesigned and will have a 40lb RF limit and a 70lb FF limit. (The roundabout is also being redesigned as a 40lb RF/55lb FF seat) All will now have a 7 year expiration as opposed to 6 and they have redesigned the seat with a lower center of gravity. These seats are also now able to pass testing forward facing tests without a tether (the only other 2 on the market that do this are the Graco Nautilus and the Sushine Kids Radian), this is a major improvement in their head excursion tests.
