Convertible car seat questions
When did you transition your baby from the infant car seat to a convertible one? Which convertible seat do you have? TIA

Re: Convertible car seat questions
Ryan was about six months old and he just seemed too big for the infant seat. We have the Britax Marathon.

Re: Convertible car seat questions
at 7 months, josh is an inch and a half away from the max height on infant seat. I am dreading switching carseats. I love that the infant seat snaps onto the stroller, I still use it all the time.
we have the triumph

Re: Convertible car seat questions
Grace stayed in the infant seat, rear facing until today (14 1/2 Months). We have the Grace snugride and she could stay in it until 30 lbs. I wanted her rear facing as long as possible. HTH

Can't you still put them rear facing in a convertible car seat (I thought that is what convertible meant)?
Thanks

Re: Convertible car seat questions
Britax Marathon. You can put them rear facing in the convertible seat. I had my son in the Britax Marathon at 4 months old.

Re: Convertible car seat questions
I have the Alpha Omega Elite. But have not installed it yet. Liam will be 1 in FOUR DAYS ( ) and I wanted to do it last week but then I was told by some car seat installer tech's on a web forum for car seats that the AOE is not the best in terms of the straps - ie: they twist on themselves and hard to get them to stay flat. That said 2 of my friends never had the problem and love their AOE's for their kids. So once I install (maybe this weekend) I'll let u know how it is. I'll still be doing rear facing too.

Thanks Yes and no, I think convertible - from what I took it to mean - is that it is RF, FF and converts to a booster seat once they are able to use a booster.

so where does the no part come in? Are some convertible seats not able to be rear facing? Now I am confused

Re: Convertible car seat questions
All convertible seats that I've seen start at around 5lbs, can be rear-facing, as well as forward-facing. Some also convert to a booster seat, but not all.
As long as DC is over 5 lbs, you can switch to a convertible seat.
