Converting Wood Burning Stove
Has anyone ever converted from a wood burning stove to a regular fire place? If so, how much does it cost, what did you do, and who did you use? I want a regular fireplace b/c the wood burning stove takes up so much space and it is a really ugly one! I would like a white wood mantle. Thanks

Re: Converting Wood Burning Stove
I'd love to know too! We have a pretty big stove right in the middle of our living room and it takes up SOOO much space. It would be great if we could convert it to a fireplace.
Although, I have heard that stoves create much more heat than fireplaces. But we don't even light a fire very often anyway, so I figure it doesn't really matter.
Would love to reclaim that extra space!

Re: Converting Wood Burning Stove
It does take up a lot of space which is one of the reasons I dont like it. I was going to get an estimate but DH wants to wait until next year when we are going to get it done. I was just wondering how much so I would know how much to save.
