Coronado or Riverside

They mentioned I could save $1,000 by staying at Coronado. I love Riversides theme, pool and that you can ride the boat to Disney Springs. It's the only resort on property I have ever stayed at... so I have no idea about Coronado. I know it is currently under construction and looks large so I worry about that. But $1,000 savings sounds hard to pass up... any advice or information?

When are you going? The main pool at Coronado is scheduled to close for renovations in September and construction is expected to last approximately 4 months. There are a couple of quiet pools that will be open during that time. Other than that, the construction is really a non-issue because they’re doing one building at a time.

I can’t compare POR to Coronado because we’ve only stayed at Coronado, but the size of the property isn’t as big as it may seem. For $1000 savings, I’d switch. They’re both moderates, so it’s not as though you’re not changing from a mod to a value which might affect someone’s decision.

We stayed at Coronado the Summer before last for a couple of nights. I was less than impressed. Our room was in the Cabanas section, near the main pool and it was very rundown. Mousekeeping was terrible. My sister stayed for a week and said it was her least favorite resort. Bus service was awful. Too many internal stops. I also found their food court to be higher priced than any others, probably because it's a convention hotel.
