Cost of spring cleanup for yard?
My ILs are having trouble maintaining their 1/2 acre property and we're thinking of getting them a year's worth of lawn service for Father's Day.
I thought it would be ~$900 ($40/wk for 16wks + $100ea for spring/fall cleanup). Us siblings would split it and know that the parents wouldn't need to worry about it anymore.
MIL doesn't want us to spend the money - she said her neighbors use a great company (which is the one she'd like to use) and they charged $1300 for spring cleanup. Is this the going rate????
I asked MIL what the neighbor had done (I was thinking maybe some bushes/plantings were added), but she said all they did was clean up/tidy and put mulch in the beds. $1300???

I think for 1/2 acre that is the going rate. We have MUCH less property than that and pay 160$/mo for cleanup.

We have 1/2 acre. We pay $35 weekly and I think about $400 for clean up.

We're on 60x120. We payed $100 for spring clean up(leaves, gutters, flower bed clean up) plus $50 for weed killer. We pay $25/week for just a cut and edging. I know we're definitely on the lower end, but sounds like they did more than spring cleanup. I know if they power seeded it would have been an additional $400. Maybe they had a lot of extras?
