Could this be a contraction... ?
Ive been feeling off all day today...and with in the past few hours..I keep getting these sharp pains in my lower belly.. Its a cross between having to go #2 really bad (sorry if tmi) and AF cramps... Actually really painful...
A couple of times I ran to the bathroom..thinking it was some tummy issues...but its not!!!!!
Theres no pattern of anything like that...but they def. hurt!!!
Also-the baby is being so active...I just feel him moving lower n lower...He's hurting me!!
What do you think is going on? DH thinks Im nuts...Im just running around moaning and groaning..lol

Hmmm...maybe my body will make some progress on its own...
Are they effective even if there is no timing to it...?

They should help your cervix to start softening and dialating, I think. But I'm new to this too! But I'd imagine they'll do that. They are preparing your body! My mom calls them practice contractions.

Mine felt like that and never had any pattern. They were 7min, then I couldnt keep track unitl they were 90sec and by the time I got to the MD I was 9cm ...and then had to get to the hospital.
Good luck

Re: Could this be a contraction... ?
Definitely sounds like you're having contractions... are they getting anymore regular or intense?

My contractins sounded exactly the same.. It was all over the charts, 11 minutes, 6 minutes, 12 minutes, 3 minutes, 9 minutes.. 15 minutes.. It drove me CRAZY, Trust me he will make his progress just fine!!!

No...everything pretty much stopped at midnight...which I guess was kinda nice, because I was able to get a little sleep...
At least if they start up again...I might have something to compare it too!

Re: Could this be a contraction... ?
That's exactly how I described my contractions. Like having the worst stomach ache because you have to go to the bathroom.
