Could you stand your spouse if you had to...

...work with him or her?

My husband has gotten better, but in the past, I've always told him I could never work with him. That if he was my subordinate, I would fire him.

We met at work and I was the service rep on some of his accounts for a while when we were first together!!

We really never had issues when we were in the same office. Except when I would tell him stuff in confidence and he would gossip and get me in trouble!!

Yep, cause I do work with him.

But to be fair... he works in another building, in another zip code so...that might make a difference.

Been there done that and in the end I made him find a new job b4 we got married!

We actually did work together. I had the job first and he came into the picture later. I dreaded the idea of it and the anticipation of his first day made me sick to my stomach.

But, it was one of the best experiences ever and it lasted 2 years. Now, I miss working with him

Nah, we've talked about this.

I couldn't imagine spending all day, every day with the same someone for years, no matter who it was.

We worked together in HS- closely, and it was fine because we weren't living together...But I wouldn't want to work with him now. Waaaaayyyy too much togetherness.

my parents do it- and i have NO IDEA how! LOL
they've owned a garden center together for over 20 years... they are basically together 24 hours a day i'd go crazy!! AND,its basically just the two of them, its not like its a big company where they can get away from each in the office or something!
LOL but, they've managed pretty well.. they've been married for 31 years

Someone would get shot within the first 10 minutes. Oy just thinking about it I get a migraine.


ets: (incase my dh sees this) I would not mind if you worked at home when we move...I just do not want to work in an office with you.

Definitely. We may have a few more arguments, but I believe we could work together for sure. I'm not saying it'd be easy, but I know we could make that work...

In fact, I'm pretty sure it will happen one day in the future when we go into business on our own.

It depends. If you talk about my last job then no. I was at a software company and what we said and did would get most poeple fired. Bathroom humor and talk was common place. If you talk about my current position then maybe but I realy don't think so. I love her to death but I don't think working with her day in and day out would be good for either one of us. So my general answer would be NO!!!!!

Absolutely!

On our off time we do just about everything together now.

We might keep cracking jokes and distract each other from time to time But it would be so fun!

We did at one time...it was tough but we can do it. I don't think I would want to...but we can.

Well considering we met at work, worked together throughout our engagement, and have continued to work together the past 478 days of our marriage; I'd have to answer YES!!!

We work for the same company but our jobs are really separate. Our shifts are different, and we work in different areas of the company so it's not like we're together all the time.

Now, if one of us had to work FOR the other, that would be a different story!!!

I really don't think it would be an issue between us.

Yea - we would get into arguments - but I don't think it would be on a regular basis

We both had to work from home on the same day once, and he annoyed the heck out of me!!!

I think parting ways for 8 hours a day is good for us

We work for the same company but on different floors and have no actual work interaction with each other unless we are chatting. It is nice to carpool!
