Cradle Question

So, my MIL is giving me my DH's old cradle from when he was a baby.
I just need to get the cradle pad, sheets, etc.

My question is...do I need cradle bumpers?

I feel like the baby is only going to be in the cradle for the first little bit anyway...but I'm not sure, and I don't want to buy something I really don't need.

I am getting them. A cradle is a lot larger than a bassinet and therefor a baby can stay in it a lot longer. A friend of mine had her son her theirs till he was 4 months. I didn't have one with DS but I plan to use it as long as I can.
