Anyway was wondering what the new Baby Bargains recommends for video monitors?

Summer's Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor
Summer's Best View Handheld Color Video Monitor
Those are the top recs. They also mention runners-up:
Levana (BabyView20, $125) Lorex (LW2003 Live Snap, $135).
"Both of these companies make security cameras and have branched off into baby monitors with good, but not great models. Considering both cost about the same as our top-rated picks from Summer, we'd go for the Summer models instead"

Its a great monitor - but unfortunately this model seems to be plagued with a freezing problem.....the 1st one i had started doing it after 6 months - but the replacement started doing it within 2 weeks..... you have to take the battery out and put it back in which is a pain since the cover is not made to be opened and closed.....and its just a big inconvience b/c you dont always realize the picture is frozen.... you look at the screen and see the baby and think everything is ok - then when you try to hit any button you realize its not working and its just a frozen pic - so then your stuck checking on the baby more often for the rest of the nap/night.
If you decide to keep the monitor - i highly recommend getting the replacement plan from BRU if thats where it was bought - they will refund the money for the item if its broken.

Re: Crashing from parenting - video monitor question
We have Summer's Best View... it's AWESOME. I love the remote option to move the monitor in the room as DS is in a toddler bed and likes to get out of bed and roam around his room in the middle of the night.
We had the slim and secure and it cr@pped out on us after a year. Plus, it froze ALL the time... no bueno

We originally registered for the slim and secure, but after doing more research we decided on the motorola one too. It got great reviews on Amazon.

I had the Summer Best View for a year... but I'm pg with #2 now and cant get a second camera for it.... which is why I'm in this boat.
I loved the ability to pan the room... and the slim & secure was annoying me that I couldnt do that.
The motorola is great! So far I love it. It pans, plays lullabyes and you can talk back to the baby. I have no regrets... and now I have 2 cameras.
