Re: Creepy story... makes you believe in the afterlife
My DH has a morbid sense of curiosity. When we went to my Uncle's funeral in May he decided to take pictures of my family's graves...don't ask, its better not knowing. I would think the Jewish g-d would frown upon this but...oh that's another story. Anyhow, when we got back from Cleveland and looked at the pictures everything seemed just as it was untill my mom and dad's pictures *they are right next to each other*. My mom's grave had this huge white spot where the writing should have been and my dad's name was invisible. The white spot was not an orb, it was more like white out. I don't know what any of this means besides the fact DH should not be taking pictures of graves.

They say kids and animals sense the "departed" I believe it.
I've heard that, and truly believe it as well. It must have something to do with their innocence.

Re: Creepy story... makes you believe in the afterlife
Have you ever had dreams that felt so real that you almost thought that they were?
I have had them about my parents. The last one I had, Danielle and I were at a restaurant, and I saw my father walk into the mens room. So I looked at Danielle and said I just saw my dad go into the bathroom, how is that possible. In the dream I knew he passed away. He had been gone for a few months already.
Anyway I walked into the bathroom and had a conversation with my father and he was asking me about the family and talking to me like he knew everything that was going on, and like a normal conversation that we would have when he was alive. It was weird as anything.

That happened to my cousin too! she was taking pics of grandfathers stone to send to another cousin, and there is this tall light blob standing to the right of the grave. very weird.

Re: Creepy story... makes you believe in the afterlife
I'll preface by saying I dont believe in this stuff, I really don't.. .but...
DH's father died a LONG time ago - 23 years ago. We have only one picture of him in the entire house, on the windowsill. The picture is from when DH's father was young, in his 30's, and seriously looks like the spitting imaage of DH. We never talk about him, and have never shown Alex the picture.
About 6 months ago Alex was first learning everyone's names. She basically knew mommy, daddy, uncle and grandpa (my father). If you pointed to a picture of everyone, she would pick each one out accurately. She would say, and still does, "Baba" for grandpa, and would say it alll the time because he lives with us, and she's grown quite fond of him.
Now, mind you, my father is 72, gray hair, old - there's no confusing him with the photograph of DH's father, which is a young 30-something that looks just like DH.
So, one day, she was standing on the windowsill. She bent down and picked up some of the photographs on the windowsill. She picked out mommy, daddy, uncle, grandma, and "baba". Put the photographs down and then walked to the other side and picked up the photo of DH's father.
I asked her, Alex, do you know who that is? I expected her to say "daddy" because the picture looks SO much like DH.
She got very excited, clapped her hands and screamed "Baba"!!
Freaked me out a little, I have to say...
