Current & Past Progesterone Users- UPDATED, I STOPPED!!! Extra Prayers needed

Thank you girls for the advice.

I didn't take the progesterone this morning and will not tonight. It's time I stop!!!

Plus I saw my Hematologist/IM today and told her how I terrified I was to get off the progesterone. She Yelled at me and said to "stop immediately" that with the Lovenox, BA, Metanx I will be fine! I think I needed to hear that today!

Extra Prayers would be greatly appreciated now that I have stopped!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Ok, so I need to know when your Dr told you to stop taking your progesterone & when did you actually do it??????

Did you completely stop taking it one day or wean off from going from 2 suppositories a day down to 1???

My Dr told me 12 weeks to STOP. I didn't know if he meant at the start of 12 weeks or the end of 12 weeks???????


Anyways, I AM TERRIFIED TO STOP TAKING. I am currently 13w 4d & YUP still taking them twice a day. I guess my fear is coming from my previous 2 m/c and I just dont know what to do.

Should I just stop TODAY?? Or go for 3 more days and just do it once a day to wean my body off????


MY DH is yelling at me for not following the DR, I just keep making up my own rules over here.

I was seeing an RE and I was told to stop taking them at 10 weeks. I left the RE at 9 weeks and saw my ob and 10 weeks who told me to stop them immediately. I quit them cold turkey, I was nervous but I'm 29 weeks now so I guess it was the right thing to do.

Dr B told me i could stop when i was 11 weeks. He said just to stop; no weaning necessary. He said by now my body is producing so much progesterone that the suppositories are like "spitting in the wind" at this point.

But, i like you, was too afraid to stop so here i am still taking them at 12w3d. I plan on stopping after i get the NT results or i run out, which ever comes first.

My DH also thinks im nuts

i was told to stop at 9.5 weeks and i just stopped. i did IVF too and i was nervous, but i was more nervous to take the shots when my doctor told me to stop.

i am now 18.5 weeks pregnant with twins. i would stop if i were you since your doctor told you to!

they do this all the time and i am sure he wouldnt have you stop if you couldn't!

i know it's nerve wracking!

I was under the care of a RE and was told to stop at exactly 10 weeks. I was nervous to stop too, bc my levels were REALLY low, but my OB told me that after a certain point the placenta kicks in and corrects the issue. I would trust your doctor and just stop... You don't want to become dependant on it.

I was nervous too but stopped cold turkey at 11 weeks (i think, I can't remember )
everything is fine-everything wiill be fine

I stopped when I ran out of the prescription. It was about 12 weeks. I stopped cold turkey. Your body takes over producing progesterone at 10 weeks so the extra two weeks are just a bonus.

I had to take progesterone with my last pregnancy and this one too.

I stopped cold turkey at 12 weeks. By then the placenta took over and progesterone levels were no longer an issue. I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

I am sure you will be fine Your placenta should be taking over the progesterone production by now - you are in the clear

I was petrified to stop taking progesterone as well. Apparently at around 10 weeks the placenta takes over making the progesterone so you really don't need them. I stopped cold turkey at about 12 weeks. You will be fine, but I totally understand your anxiety!!!!!

As i said earlier its scary to stop but its good for the baby!!! Many
