How did you tell your parents that you were pregnant?

My sisters know that I am redoing a room in my house, so once we found out - I printed out pics of nurserys and I asked which they thought would look best in my house!

We gave my parents a onesie that said "I love my Mimi and PopPop"(thats what they want to be called)

For my inlaws , we had my stepson wear a shirt that said "Im gonna be a big brother"to their house.

We had them over for dinner and I had pickles and peanut butter on the table waiting for them.

We gave them gift bags that had bibs in it that said "I love my Grandma/Grandpa"

They were quite adorable with their reactions.

My mom - we gave her a black t-shirt with a granny smith apple on it that said "Don't call me Granny". My mother is young and it's been a long standing joke that when we had kids we would train them to call her "granny" .

My Dad - gave him a shirt that said "World's Greatest Poppy".

DH's parents - we slipped a t-shirt on our 2 year old nepehw one night at my SIL and BIL's house that said "This Little Monkey is Going to be a Big Cousin". Then we waited for them to notice.

It was my mom's birthday so we got her a card and put the baby's first sonogram inside. When she opened it it said "Happy Birthday Nana, see you in April".

We got a little t-shirt for our dog that said "I'm going to be a big sister" and when we went to each of their houses, told them that our pup had something to tell them.

i added comic strip captions to our first sonogram picture using a free program online - i made one for my mom, one for my dad and one for my sister - they each had their own silly caption. then i got cheap frames and wraped them up in tissue paper and put them in gift bags (so i would know which was the right one to give to each person) we said it was gifts we got them from the fair then they all read their caption out loud - it was funny - especially b/c the sonogram was from 6 weeks - so i think that made it a little more funny

my mom and dad have their pictures on their desks and my sister has hers in her room

telling in-laws wasn't as fun we did it over the phone and my SIL just gave the news that she was pregnant a few days before. it was kind of anti-climatic

i'm still trying to think of a fun way to tell my grandparents

I read this online somewhere and thought it was a really cute idea. I might do this to my IL's

Gather everyone together to take a group photo. Take the first picture, asking them to "Say Cheese!" Then, for the second photo, say, "Everyone say, Lucy's pregnant!" Take a quick snapshot--you'll get a great, stunned look on everyone's faces

OMG I LOVE this. so simple and perfect. I'm totally doing this with my MIL - she will burst into tears (as will I)

I told my parents and in-laws with a poem. i attached the sono to the bottom of it and had it framed. The best part is now they both have it as a keepsake. My mom has it displayed in her living room!

This is the poem:

I do not have a face to see
or put inside a frame
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss
I don't yet have a name.
You can't yet hold my tiny hands
Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
Or cuddle me so near.
But all will change come April 23, 2011
That's when they say I'm due.
I'm your new grandson or granddaughter.
I can't wait till I meet you.
All I ask between now and then
Is your patience while I grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait.
Because of all the love we'll know.
So what I have to give you now,
Is a wish to you from me.
I cannot wait to be a part
Of this wonderful family.

For my family we put "We're having a BABY!" on a cake. We opened it and had my sister read it out loud.

For my ILs we got a onsie that said "Destination: Grandparents" on it and gave it to them as a gift to open.

I found out I was pregnant around hubby's birthday. After I told hubby and our best friend's, we only had my Mom to tell. So I went to Kohls and bought a pair of newborn PJ's that said "I Love my Daddy". I put them in a gift bag and went to her house with my best friend, (hubby was away) and I asked her if she wanted to see what I got hubby for his bday? She looked in the bag and pulled out the out fit and almost fell over...She was so excited. Once we told her, she got on the phone and called her entire family in England.

We found out December 9th and told them on Christmas. My mother and father I gave a onesie with a poem they were shocked and my mother in law we gave a nursery book with the poem taped to it. They both screamed and cried.

im just going to blurt out "im pregnant" or "we're having a baby"

i feel uncomfortable as it is telling people so im not making it sappy

i'm telling my family this weekend and i was just recently in london. i'm bringing my laptop with a short slideshow of pics from my trip and the last pic is a pic of our most recent sono. i hope they'll be surprised and get it! this is the 6th grandchild for my parents so lots of the other ideas, including sonograms in gift boxes, big brother shirts etc. have already been done.

THE FIRST TIME I WAS PG..it was cute...i made my sister and her kids and hubby sit with me on the couch and i told them i wanted to take a picture....ithink i told them i have zero pics of them in my house and we should take one now...

and my hub took the pic and he said ok 1, 2, and i said IM PREGNANT and he took the pic and the pic was priceless! got their reaction

We had my dd wear a shirt that said I have a secret in the front and on the back it said I am going to be a big sister. She kept on turning around so it was hard for people to read the back but once one person did the whole room knew.
