I have to say though, that they did well with what they had. For someone who wants to get away from renting, and have an alternative to a condo, that's nice.
That price though is nuts.

I've seen smaller. In E. Rockaway there are lots of small waterfront bungalows with docks. They are often priced over $400K. Not something I'd spend that kind of money on, but it seems somewhat common in that area.

It sounds very overpriced, though I don't know what things go for in Oceanside. Our co-op could not have been much smaller than this house, and we sold it for a lot less.
It wouldn't be bad as a starter home for a couple, but at a lower price. You really could find an apartment that would be about the same size.

Yep, my parents first house was on West Blvd in Bay Park, ER. So tiny!!
And I actually know where the posted house in Oceanside is!!

It's right off Lawson Blvd., just south of Atlantic Avenue. First street right behind P.C. Richards on the corner. If you go to the listing, click on Map Property and it will give you the location. I have a friend who lives on Waverly, 1 block over, so we've been on that street.

I used to live diagonally across from PC Richards in the apt complex until we moved to FL... I know exactly where that is!
