Day 1 of using the Big girl bed for naps was a....
SUCCESS 
I brought miki into her room, sat her on her bed and told her it was nap time
she cried and followed me to the door, once I left the room and shut the door she was standing at the door crying for about 5 minutes and then was silent. I was sure she fell asleep on the floor but when I went to check on her, she had climbed into bed and was sleeping
hope it stays like this

congrats! I'm soo jealous! DD has completely stopped napping at home since we introduced the big girl bed, but sleeps fine in it at night.  So now she has one hour of "rest time" in the afternoon where she has to stay in her room and play (or nap!!!) quietly while mommy naps (9 months pregnant). I have the gate at the door. Still no napping. Meanwhile, she naps at school perfectly fine!!

Thanks everyone, she wound up sleeping for 2.5 hours and only awoke when she fell out of bed. We have been leaving her bedroom door open so she can play in there during the day and she seems to love her room now....
