Day care moms.
Does your daycare allow the kids to play outside during the summer even on the really hot days?
do they watch DVDs at day care?
What sort of activities do they do during the day.
Looking especially for moms of kids 17mths and up.
I am a WAHM and SAHM and looking for ideas on how to entertain DD during the summer months.
Thanks

Re: Day care moms.
They don't watch DVDs.
They do group crafts, group games, play "centers" (they have different stations - science, kitchen, art)

Re: Day care moms.
At my daycare they take the kids out even on the hot days - but not on those ozone warning days - the play inside - but they have a baby playroom inside...
No DVDs at daycare, at least not in the center based places...

Re: Day care moms.
There is a patio with an overhang outside of my daughter's class (21 months) so even on the hottest of days, they bring out a few kiddie pools with umbrellas, and they play in the water (from 9:30-10:30).
10:30-11:30 is sports time - soccer, yoga, etc. If the weather is bad, they stay inside and do arts and crafts.
11:30-2pm is lunch and naptime
2pm-3:30pm is arts and crafts, or, if there's a show being done by one of the older classes, they go attend and watch.
Some days they have sing-a-long with someone playing the guitar - this week they had a 4th of July parade. Yesterday was "safari" day - an organization came in with a bunch of animals and the kids learned about them.
No DVD's at our daycare
Edited to add - they have a vegetable garden growing right outside my daughter's classroom, so they also pick the vegetables, wash them and eat them, and the teacher has just started teaching them how to plant new veggies. Apparently, even though they are young, they really love it.
