Daycare - naps for newborns/infants
My DD is 4 months old and will be going to a babysitter starting in 2 weeks. She naps in the crib but only for 30-45 min. Her best naps are in the car seat. It drives me crazy how she can nap for 2 hours if we are out, but at home 30-45 min top! Not sure why this is!
Anyway, for those that send their DC to daycare, where do they nap? Do they have to nap in the crib, or are the daycare places ok with them napping in the carseat or swing? I hate to start a bad habit but I am not sure that they will be able to get her to nap in the pack in play, and if they do they may be so short.
Any advice? And if you have been through this, when did your DC nap better laying flat in a crib? She sleeps really good at night, so I am not sure what the deal is during the day....
Thanks!

Re: Daycare - naps for newborns/infants
I put my son in daycare at 3 months. He would barely sleep there. There was just too much going on. He did a lot of tiny naps and they realized they shouldn't try to move him if he feel asleep in the bouncy seat or swing. He did have his own crib but he just wasn't having it. They didn't seem to care as long as I didn't care. I am sure she will start her own routine once she gets used to her environment and schedule. Good Luck

Re: Daycare - naps for newborns/infants
AJ sleeps at home overnight in a baby incline sleep positioner
So for daycare i got an extra one and sent it along.
They provide her her own crib (we provide sheets) and they mark on her sheet when she sleeps and how long. So far she's taking her normal 25-30 cat naps with maybe one true hour plus nap.
My daycare won't let them sleep in the carseat, actually they said they 'can't' allow the carseat in the room for very long at all
She's only been at daycare two days (as of today) but they have so much stuff for her to do, tummy time, chair, jumperoo, etc that she'll pass out just about anywhere (she's asleep flat in the crib right now, and that never happens)
Sorry if this isnt helpful

Re: Daycare - naps for newborns/infants
DD is also 4 months... i have been back to work for a little while though... she sleeps great at night- however during the day is another thing. While at home we cant seem to get her to nap in her crib- when we are out she will sleep the entire time! Grandma (where she goes 2 days a week) seems to have the same issue, however, when she is at the babysitter, where there are 2 other kids, she naps great! It is really wierd... i kinda gave up trying to figure it out! I think my babysitter is magic. As long as she is a happy baby and sleeping through the night, I am fine. I am thinking that over the holiday break when we have off for a week+ that I might do a cry it out during the day to get her to nap in her crib, but we'll see...

I gave the daycare an extra swaddle me so it works there. He will take some cat naps and a 2-3 hour nap.
