Daycare ?

I know this probably has been asked many times before but I'm too lazy to do a searchChat Icon

How much do you pay for day care? I'm looking into options for DD and there is one by my house but I think for the 4 days she will be there it comes out to $320 a week. Is that alot? TIA!

ETA: Also do you prefer your DC to be at a daycare center or with a daycare provider in her home? Pros and cons of each if you don't mind. I'm trying to get my ducks in order since I will be going back to work soon.

Re: Daycare ?

I pay $245 a week for 5 days, 9 hours a day.

I prefer a center opposed to in home care. More eyes and ears and more stringent security standards.

That's what I was thinking. Originally we didn't consider a daycare center because it just never really crossed our minds and around where I live they are far and few in between. Also some of them are super pricey...one wanted $525 a week and they had a wait list. I was able to get an appt. to tour one around my house that is more reasonable only problem is me and my dumb self didn't even think about waiting listsChat Icon Chat Icon And I start work in April so hopefully they have an opening. But I do prefer the interaction with teh kids and the extra set of eyes and ears.

Re: Daycare ?

I pay $730 for 5 days 9-3:45... so $182.50/week. When I was doing after care it was $195/week.

That number significantly increases during the summer because it goes from 'school' to 'camp'.
