Is this an issue??? Daycare related oh yeah, and its a long post too...
Noah is doing amazingly well at daycare, he doesn't cry when I drop him off, he smiles alot, he plays with all the toys and he is eating tons there!! Which he never used to do before, the problem lies in naps. I drop him off there at 8 am and his dad comes to pick him up at 5.30 pm, in all that time he might have 20 minutes sleep. Its too long for him to go without a good long nap. The problem is that they put the babies down to sleep on mats after they eat their lunch at around 12noon...Noah is one of those kids who needs a nap exactly 2 hours after he has woken up.
I have asked her to put him down in a crib for a nap at around 10ish, when he is at his tiredest but the owner says that they try to get all the kids on the same schedule, thats what brings out the best in them. I do agree that that is the best idea, in an ideal world, but I feel very badly that my baby has to be so tired all day. The nursery assistants say that he isn't that tired and he is happy all afternoon, and I know that he probably is...but I hate the fact that he doesn't get a nice long sleep like he did when he was at home with me.
What do you think..should I let it lie or keep hassling Claire the owner to put him down for a nap earlier in the day??

As a previous daycare teacher, I would say let it rest. If he's that tired, he will fall asleep after lunch on his mat with the rest of the children. It just might take him a while to get on the new schedule. How long has he been there? Good Luck!
ETA: It also depends on how old he is. If he's 12 months or under, they should be going by your schedule, not theirs.

Thanks for that...he has just turned 1 about 2 weeks ago. He has been there for about 4 weeks...I think I should give him more time to get used to it, but I feel badly that he must be so tired!

Nate had the same issue... He didn't go to day care until he was a year old and was used to having a morning nap. In the beginning, when we asked how his day was they said sometimes he was cranky. I told them that on the weekends he still napped around 9-10am. So he started letting him sleep and everyone had a better day. He's been there for 10 months now and doesn't need the morning nap anymore.

I wouldnt worry about it.Sydney only naps for about an hour the whole day and she is a year old, too. When we leave the house she seems tired but when she gets to daycare it is like she has a second wind.
