Daycare

I am just curious....I am not pregnant yet but doing my research,,,,would you mind sharing with me what moms that work (or if it is your first baby plan to go back to work) do in regards to daycare? And how much $$ a five day 7:30-3:30 daycare would cost? TIA Chat Icon

Re: Daycare

DH & I are looking into them now & as the pp said, it is very expensive. We are going to only be sending our DC for 1-2 days a week though as my MIL will watch the baby 1 day & I am going to work from home at least 2 days a week...

Re: Daycare

I live in VA and I am so lucky I found a center that I like that provides formula and baby food. It is 200 a week full time and 155 a week part-time.

Re: Daycare

We registered Baby K for 3 days a week and it's about $1100 -
b/c we need the 'extended hours' option in the morning from 6:30 - 8AM

The normal hours are 8AM - 6PM and for 3 days I think it was about $1,000 - I have to double check

Re: Daycare

We are using a private home for daycare (a mother in the district where I teach does daycare out of her house) and we'll be paying between 250-300 per week. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Daycare

For DD#1 we pay $1200 a month. Some daycares discount the price once the baby turns a year old - our place does not discount until the age of 3 though.
So 2 will run us just under $2400 with the sibling discount Chat Icon

Re: Daycare

Where we chose is $300 per week/$1300 per month for a 5 day a week schedule, 8 am to 6 pm. We'll be signing up for the extra-hours thing (meaning we can drop off starting at 6:30 am) which I believe is appx. an extra $100 per month.

Re: Daycare

My 2 go to daycare for what is considered and extended day 7:30-6:00 and I pay 1000k per kid (which is a discounted rate since I have 2 there)
Our old daycare I paid about $2,450 a month for the 2. They are now charging $1,550 for an infant.

In the fall we are switching to a Nanny. It will cost me $600 a week for all 3 kids although my oldest will be in school 1/2 days.

Re: Daycare

I just interviewed my first place. Part time is 4 hours so you would be considered full time.

5 days a week for infants 6wks and up is $1185 a month
