Posted by SLPRunner I asked about a menu and she said no menu
I thought daycare facilities had to (as in legally) provide food menus in advance. Does anyone know?
According to what I read earlier from the state regulations I think they do need provide food menus in advance. They do provide an advanced menu for lunch.

I am pretty laid back, but I'd absolutely say something. My daycare publishes a menu of breakfast, lunch and daily snacks - they also give us a daily 'update' that tells us what the kids did, what they ate, how MUCH of it they ate (like, 50%, 100% etc) They'll also tell me if lunch was tacos, but my kid refused to eat it and they gave him a cheese sandwich or something in its place.
If you wouldn't feed your child graham crackers for breakfast at home - then they shouldn't be feeding him cookies at 7 am at daycare. I'm not saying they need to feed him a full on 3 course meal .........but it shouldnt' be cookies!
definitely agree!! our daycare is very conservative and at snack they give apple juice. i don't like all the sugar that's in apple juice and asked the teacher to give water and she was totally cool with it.

Daycare food- Would You Say Something?
No menu? That is very strange....Our daycare has breakfast at 9 but since my kids go early I send in a morning snack, no biggie. But I would be livid if graham crackers were considered a breakfast!

Daycare food- Would You Say Something?
This was the only regulation I found that may relate to this: (ak) Current menus for each week must be posted in a place readily accessible to parents and the Office.

I would be upset. That's why I send in my daughters food. So I know what she is eating and they quality. Day area generally will purchase he cheapest options. She gets a hard boiled egg every day, and usually a pancake and a fruit. Very easy to grab on the go too.
