Daycare moms and people who work/worked in one.

I received a notice in my mailbox this morning that the director is no longer with the center. The letter specifically said "I am sure there are many questions regarding her leaving and I would ask that you respect our collective privacies, and not request any information that cannot be shared anyway. A letter regarding our plans going forward will be forthcoming"

First to me it sounds like she was fired. Is it typical to NOT share with parents what happened and how they are going to correct the issue?

As a parent this letter concerns me. I have no idea who's going to be running the center...would this bother you?

I would say she was fired. If she gave notice they would have given you guys notice before she left.

They may not be able to share with you why she is gone for legal reasons. She probably screwed up if they let her go or maybe she was stealing, you will probably never find out unless you have a chatty teacher or two with whom you are close with.

ETA: That is a crappy way to tell you all. When we let a teacher go we speak with each parent individually.

Hm. Sounds like she was fired. And maybe b/c she was the director it's more hush hush.

At our daycare, one of the teachers was let go and we received a letter about her replacement- in the beginning of the note it says "As many of you know I had to let Christine go"
