Daycare Moms.. Aren't you loving how your kids are such Angels there but not at home?
I go pick up AJ today and she's so sweet and nice and friendly (we peek at her before she knows we are there)
She's so helpful and follows directions and is just an overall DREAM. I walk in and she's so happy to see me and Jim. I hear how she was helping to clean up the room.
Sure enough I say "lets put the car away sweetie" and she nods yes and hold my finger as she pulls me towards the toys. Then looks at me like "where mom?" so I point out the other cars and she lets go of me and rushes over to put it way. Says good bye to it and all. Other teachers in other rooms see this and 'aww, isn't that cute', wish our kids did that' etc etc.
I'm thinking....
NO WAY! you gotta see this kid at home!
Her one pure JOY is removing EVERY single toy from any and every single put away place and THROWING it somewhere else. She's not picky WHERE just somewhere ELSE. If she's not happy with the arrangement she'll pick it up and throw it some more. Heaven help the poor sap who suggests putting it away or hiding it... ALL OUT TANTRUM!
haha
So where's this cute, kind, helpful child who puts away the toys? Not in my home at least!
She cracks me up... did this with eating too. Used to eat better for them than me for months. Still drinks Milk from a sippy only at daycare, not at home. No paci at daycare but suckers daddy into one as soon as she gets in the car!
I swear she KNOWS what she's doing!

funny isn't it? DD is 14 months old and she doesn't use her paci at daycare at all (except for naps) but she will whine for/look for it at home. I couldn't believe it when they brought her to the sink to wash her hands once and she put each hand under the water. When I try to wash her hands she tries to grab the handles...

so funny that you say this. Frankie pulled an all out tantrums when I went to pick him up yesterday at the daycare. They were actually shocked by his behavior. They asked of this was new for him. I laughed. I said he's been doing it for months!

DD will try almost any food they put in front of her at daycare. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten a report that she LOVED a certain food she tried, so I serve it at home and she makes a face like I'm trying to kill her with rat poison and throws it on the floor!

I guess I'm lucky that my DD doesn't behave any differently at daycare then she does at home!
ETA: Maybe it has something to do with the fact that her daycare teacher also babysits for us from time to time, she my DD is comfortable enough to be herself at daycare!
