Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
DD will be starting in September and I just got the new parent's handbook today. I have to provide a PNP w/sheet, a blanket, 2 changes of clothes, all diapers, wipes, creams etc., food/formula (already mixed or RTF) and I think that's it...
I don't mind providing the stuff, because I know she'll be napping in/eating/being diapered in Snickers approve stuff, but I was just wondering what the "norm" is or if there is a norm at all when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Thanks!

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
Is it in a home?
When my kids were younger and not on table food yet, I needed to provide...
formula pre-mixed in bottles baby food diapers wipes change of clothes sheets (they had p-n-p's)
My center provided breakfast, lunch and a snack so once they were on table food we only had to provide a sippy cup. We also sent in organic milk.
ETA: MY kids were at a relatively small center, not a home.

Mason will also be starting in Sept. I was told extra crib sheets (they actually said to use pac n play sheets b/c the cribs are a little smaller). Wipes, diapers, formula already prepared in the bottle, maybe an extra outfit for any accidents and anything extra we want to provide like a mobile or blankie or something. I think we'll just get a mobile b/c Mason loves him. Oh, and he also loves his paci when he naps so I'll get a clip and paci and make sure to put his name on everything. How old will your DC be? Mason is going to be a little over 3 months.

Those are all the things I provided also. I also bought some extra small toys to send with DS. All items come home weekly to be washed. HTH

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
I assume you are going with a private home for daycare? Is that why you have to provide a PNP?
I provide DD's bottles already prepared, I have 3 changes of clothes there for her, as well as a blanket, sheets for her crib, diapers, wipes, diaper cream. I also keep a can of formula and an extra bottle in case DD wants more than what I provide.

They specifically wrote NOT to bring toys from home because they can cause jealousy and conflicts. (I wish there was a shrugging emote-icon)
Anyway, it is a small neighborhood daycare center with 6 infants and 6 toddlers. It's not in a home...I guess you would call it a storefront? It's really nice inside, they have a huge yard with a deck and a mini-park, and I love their philosophy about education and Childcare.
DD will be just over 8 months when she begins.

here's my list
bring everyday: - empty bottles ( they mix) - spoon - solid food - bibs

my daycare also gives a daily summary of naps/feeding/diaper change/activities, great idea!

DS goes to a center. I provide his diapers, wipes, diaper cream (only used when needed), 2 sets of extra clothes and a jacket in the cooler months, a pacifier, bottles of BM and food. Once he moves up to the toddler room, the center provides food and milk/juice. The center provides the sheets, bibs, crib, highchair and toys. They also have a huge buggy that fits 4 babies so they can take the babies for a walk outside.

I get the whole jealousy thing and understand their point, it actually makes sense. I don't bring anything too wonderful but DS likes them. Good luck. The daycare sounds wonderful from your description and most important you truly believe in their philosophy. I have found that being comfortable with the daycare is half the emotional battle I have with myself about being a working mom.

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
My kids will be starting at a center in November. My DS will be 18 months, in toddler room. I need to provide: a crib sheet and blanket for nap time (on a cot) 2 snacks a day lunch, milk, juice 2 sippy cups to stay for the week all spoons and dishes diapers diaper cream a change of clothes
DD will be 6 months and in the infant room. She will be in a pack and play so they provide the sheets, and wash them for us every weekend. Also, empty bottles with cans of formula, they make the bottles for us. This is in CT. though, so the laws may be different.

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
My list is CRAZY! Spoons, 6 bibs, two bowls, cups, sheets, diapers, wipes, a weeks worth of clothes, onsies, personal toys and an "infant wedge". Not even sure what that is. But, if it goes under the crib sheet.. I am fighting it. THere is no way I am putting my baby on something that goes against the back to sleep regs... when he doesn't use it at home
And I know that I'm forgetting some things... The list was a page long!
just remembered.. extra binkies... I know there is more...

This is my list too except I have to bring in two sets of sheets for the crib. Every Friday the sheet gets sent home and I have to bring a washed one in on Monday. I also bring in two pacifiers each day a pacifier clip and she has one pacifier in her box. And two pairs of socks.

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
That is what we needed for DD. We needed even more for my son since she was just a mom who offered to watch him. I got her a stroller, a booster seat to feed him, and extra car seat. (but for what she is charging me, well worth it )

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
We provide her bottles with formula/bm. She is on solids now so we provide baby food. Once she's able to eat regular table food then we don't have to bring that anymore. Diapers to go home (she uses cloth at school). A blanket, binky and any diaper cream or sunscreen. They pretty much provide everything else.

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
You have to bring your own pnp? If the price is right it's not a biggie...just personally never heard of that.
When DS started (3 months) he needed:
2 portable crib sheets 2 Changes of clothes 1 blanket doll Socks Bibs Diapers Wipes Ointment
Bottles (already made for the entire time that he would be there)

Re: Daycare Moms: What do you have to provide for your DC at Daycare?
My DD goes to a daycare center and when she first started (7months) I had to provide:
2 crib sheets blankets (if your DC uses one-mine did not in the beginning) 2 extra sets of clothing
I would leave a big pack of diapers and a wipes container with a refill (they would let me know when they were getting low)
I EBF so I would bring bottles (that had to be labeled with not only her name but the fact that it was Breast Milk) I would also bring cereal and fruit/veggie baby food each day (I made my own so I didn't leave extra there but could have if I used packaged)
Now that she is older I just send her with breakfast (although they do feed them there ) and two sippy cups . She eats lunch and snacks that they provide
