Daycare moms with DC on delayed vaccine schedule?
Hi Ladies...DS is 16 mos old and has been in Daycare since he was 4 mos. He's on a delayed vaccine schedule and last year our daycare didn't have a problem with this. This year everything is different and now we're being asked to file an exemption (religious) and was wondering if anyone else has done this for daycare.
I'm inclined to just pull DS from daycare and get a private sitter/nanny until DC#2 comes in Nov b/c i'll probably stay home at that point.
Ps please don't flame me for this -- I'm not anti-vaccine...
TIA!

Re: Daycare moms with DC on delayed vaccine schedule?
The laws haven't changed, they're simply abiding by them. According to NYS (assuming you're in NY) your child must be vaccinated according to the CDC schedule (within reason - obviously if your appt is a month later or something you should be fine).
If you choose not to go according to the schedule you need to file for exemption, though I thought the exemption was an all or none thing but maybe not. There are a few moms on the board that have done it - hopefully one of them will reply to your post with better info on the exemption part.

Re: Daycare moms with DC on delayed vaccine schedule?
Can your ped write a letter explaining the childs getting his vaccines delayed (maybe because of a medical reason?) and the schedule in which he is getting...that may help..???(some licensors are ok with this)
Pulling your child out, isnt really going to help- as these are STATE requirements, so any STATE LICENSED facility you put your child into, will require the same things....
