DC's w/food allergies/eczema...
Ryan has a little eczema, nothing major but lately there's a faint rash on his belly/chest. I"ve started him on oatmeal and wonder if it's from that or if it's just the eczema acting up. Doesn't seem to be botherin him much. What were some symptoms of food allergies in your babies? Thanks!

Re: DC's w/food allergies/eczema...
my kid broke out in hives all over her back and neck within 20 mins of me giving her whole wheat bread. i don't know if that's eczema related, probably just a food allergy.
her eczema is the worse on the colder days, b/c of the heat in the house?
after she bathes, it can get pretty bad too..

our ped said oatmeal can aggravate ezcema, so we delayed giving it to her when she was a baby.
We could tell her food allergic reactions when she had bright red hives on her face, whereever the food touched and she started to swell.

The heat in our house seems to really aggravate Andrews eczema.

Re: DC's w/food allergies/eczema...
DD has eczema, but so far no food allergies.
Heat & Moisture are big aggravators of eczema.
DD only gets a bath twice a week for now, especially in the dry heat of the house and coldness of outside, and we moisturize everyday. That's the only way we keep the breakouts to a min.
DD eats oatmeal everyday too and as long as we moisturize everyday and not bathe her alot, she gets nothing.

Def try to space it more, i know it sounds gross, but you can do a washcloth bath in between to keep him fresh smelling, then moisturize.
I feel so bad since DD loves her baths, but her eczema hurts her so much more, it cracks open and bleeds if i bathe her too much.
I use Aveeno baby, or Eucerin, so far those work the best!
Good luck! hopefully he won't get those breakouts anymore
