DD is a night owl - WWYD?

Hi ladies,

I'm looking for some opinions on DD's sleep schedule.

She is 2 mos old and her last bottle is anywhere from 9-10:30 PM, then she is awake for another hour before she is down for the night, so she doesn't go down till anywhere from 10-11:30.

For the last few nights I have gotten a good 8-9hr stretch from her so she will wake up for a bottle at around 6-8AM, and then go down again for another 3 hrs before she is "up" for the day.

She is still sleeping right now (10:30AM).

She is a really good baby during day and only fusses a little at night since we switched her formula, but I am afraid that her bedtime is too late.

I've tried keeping her up more during the day (2 1/2 yr old DS is always playing and screaming so it is loud and bright in the house).

I'm not even sure I should try to change this bc truthfully the mornings are a breeze for me since I can get myself & DS ready for the day, feed him breakfast, make her bottles, etc. and not have to worry about tending to her as well.

The only thing is I hate having to be up till 11:30 every night.

Would you try to get DD to sleep and wake earlier or leave her schedule as is?

Thanks!

DD did the same thing until she was around 2 to 2.5 months old. She would go to bed between 11 and 12. Around 2.5 months, she started going to be between 10 and 11. Now, at almost 5 months, she is asleep by 8 and stay asleep until around 7.

I don't think keeping her up more during the day will do the trick. She will probably start going to be earlier as time goes on. Hang in there!

She's still figuring out the world. I think its ok for now.

Now my DD *IS* a true night owl. At 2 shes still going to bed at 10-10:30. Any earlier and its a battle, a screaming fit, tears, etc. No CIO does not help she cries herself awake and sick and we spent a very long night with her totally awake because of it. It just is who she is. She'll sleep until 7am, if she's not up at 4am to torment Daddy.

Some kids just don't do early bed times. My never has. 8pm bedtime? no way. Good thing is since I worked in the city and commuted home for 2hrs, 9pm - 10pm meant I could spend time with her Chat Icon
