DD's face constantly broken out/dry??
Lately she's had what look like a few little pimples on her face, mostly they cluster on her cheeks and they just feel dry. It's nowhere else on her body. Besides her retular aveeno lotion i've been using, what can I put on her face that will clear it up?

Sounds like it could be keratosis pilaris, and unfortunately nothing really works to clear it up completely. I overheard someone the other day who said she started a gluten free diet and her daughter's cleared up immediately (she was like 9).

It could be eczema too. Sometimes something just happens that triggers a breakout-- even if they never had before. Sash started getting it last winter at almost 2 yrs old.
Her derm recommended CeraVe cream-- it's the one in the tub not the bottle/pump. They have it at CVS, etc. (same makers as Cetaphil). Try that, and if it doesn't clear up-- ask your ped about it and maybe look for a dermatologist who can prescribe something.

Thank you, I will get that. Did she also just have it on certain areas of her face and nowhere else?

she has it on her hands-- just the tops, although she does sometimes have on her fingers. And on her chin around her mouth, probably triggered by drool/excess saliva from teething. I slather the cream on head to toe every AM and PM. Hope it works.

Cerave will definitely help control it. Try to get all fragrance free products for now-soaps, laundry soap, dryer sheets etc. That should calm it down. If it gets really bad you may need to use cortizone/steroid cream.

My niece and nephew (8 & 10) both have eczema, pretty badly I might add, and her doc recommended she use Eucerine. (I think that's how you spell it). She's been using that on them since they were just about babies. She swears by it.
